Vestenberg Ev. Luth. 2007

The organ of Vestenberg was built in 1891 by the renowned organ builder G.F. Steinmeyer as Opus 440.

At that time, the Steinmeyer company was in a state of transition, as the technology was changed from mechanical to pneumatic action. The Vestenberg instrument is considered one of the first to use this new technique with wedge bellows. In the 1970s, the sound of the organ was greatly altered in accordance with the taste of the time. This serious intervention was reversed by us as far as possible in the course of the overall restoration. The stops in question are
- Salicional 8'
- Gamba 8'
- Violon 8'
- Mixture 2 2/3'

Among other things, the pneumatic action was completely restored. We disassembled all wedge bellows, cleaned the plates and covered them with thin lambskin leather. The pipework was re-tuned and the reconstructed stops were carefully adapted to the historical sound.
