Pfaffing-Biburg St. Stephan 2011

The organ of the Pfaffing parish church was built around 1850 by the organ builder Jakob Müller from Tuntenhausen. It is probably one of the last instruments of this organ builder still preserved today.

We found the organ in a bad condition: the intonation was too quiet and the overall sound was not very carrying. After a thorough examination we found that the wind pressure was not right, which was exacerbated by the completely worn and holey magazine bellows. As a result, we transported the complete bellows from the attic of the church to our workshop, where they were relined. The old and weak organ blower was replaced by a new wind machine with a protective box and intake from the church hall.
The unsuitable - and non-historic - facade pipes were renewed in the original style. The original stop markings on the stops were painstakingly uncovered and retouched.
For this work we cooperated with the State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments in Munich. All other organ parts were also restored according to the highest principles of monument preservation.
