Achsheim St. Peter und Paul 2008

The Achsheim organ was built exactly 100 years before its restoration, in 1908, by the Augsburg organ builder Koulen.

In the course of the church renovation, the organ was completely removed and put into storage. The restoration was then carried out in our workshop. The windchest system of the Koulen company is very special - the leather bags in the chambers were all worn out and leaking and were newly made by us using a special technique. Our many years of experience were decisive in these difficult little jobs, just as they were in the restoration of the pneumatic console with its many shut-off diaphragms.
After completion of the workshop work, we reassembled and installed the organ in the church. The voicing of the Koulen organ is very colourful and pleasant.
